Babies’ Homes Programme update – 3rd Quarter

The Domino Foundation has been working together with the KZN Adoption Coalition and several other Ethekwini-based NPOs to lobby government and regulators on behalf of the adoption community in KwaZulu-Natal, the province with the highest number of orphans. The aim is to tackle the official obstacles in place which frustrate domestic adoptions in the hope that the Department for Social Development having to approve more adoptions.

The quarter has seen the adoption process begun for three of children at the homes and two of the children returning to their birth families.

The Pre-school has increased the number of days on which it operates from three to four each week. Read more about the ‘pre-school’ here.

Donors have generously offered to assist with donations towards purchasing a vehicle for our babies home. Earlier this year our vehicle was stolen and due to being an old car, the insurance payout was insufficient to purchase a vehicle. If you can assist with financial donations towards a vehicle, please contact Shaun Tait on 031 563 9605.
