We at The Domino Foundation work on the basis of offering an opportunity of 100 hours per year, breaking that down into quarterly achievements of 25 hours every 3 months. This equates to scholars working 1 full week per term to tick off 25 Community Service hours. We have planned 3 jam-packed “Com-Serve weeks” throughout the year which students can sign-up to attend (all 3 or only one!) to acquire their relevant hours.
We will keep students busy throughout the week with 5 x 5-hour work days filled with various activities that will benefit the running of The Domino Foundation and our programmes. Supervised activities may include; Community paint days, storeroom clean outs, office admin tasks, vegetable tunnel building & maintenance, prepping of meals and parcels for hungry families and loving on the babies at The Domino Foundation Abandoned Babies Home.
Not only will we be utilising your volunteered time as effectively as possible, but we also believe that it is our responsibility to extend and grow our volunteers when working at Domino. We believe that each individual can give of themselves in 3 areas, and that is:
– their Time,
– their Talents (skills & knowledge to have greater impact in our community) and
– their Treasures (finances, fund raising, donating of items)
Some activities may require scholars to assist and plan fund-raising campaigns to benefit a programme of their choice. Upon completion of the required Community Service hours, we will issue a signed, certificate of completion for school and varsity records. We know that you will be forever changed after your time at The Domino Foundation and that you will make an incredible impact in the lives of the 5000 + beneficiaries on our programmes.
